Ok. As I said, I wrote this to give a general overview of what to do and what not to do. Fashion is one of the most difficult topics to give advice on because it is very personal and everyone has a different view on what's right and what's not.

In reality, there is rarely a "right" or "wrong" because you end up following whatever your bank/office does. This was intended to provide a brief guide on the basics (e.g. don't spend a ridiculous amount of money on the wardrobe and don't wear square-toe shoes).

Several readers had asked me for this post, which is why I wrote it. In the future I will not be covering personal/controversial topics and will instead stick to more factual material and reader Q&A.

Inquisitor the clothes are cheaper factoring in the plane ticket too. I don’t think you are right about people noticing shoes less than suits and shirts, I am heavily invested in shoes and I think Alex is right when he says you get what you pay for. There are no deals on shoes, a cheap is a cheap shoe whichever way you look at it. And square toed shoes are an American abomination, I have never seen anyone where the shoes people here on suits, especially the ones that look like you are wearing corrective footwear.
